Septaria slabs are manufactured by gluing a lot of smaller gemstone slabs together. The result is striking, large semi-precious slabs that can be backlit thanks to the transparency of the gems. This is a very rare, unique and luxurious product.
NATURAL FINISH:
No treatment. Sold as extracted from the quarry. Best used for cladding and cobblestones.
POLISHED FINISH:
High-glossy look, which highlights the color of the stone. Mirror-like and shiny finish. Easy to clean and maintain. It is recommended for everything but the floors, as it is slippery. Please note that this finish tends to show more etches and scratches due to low resistance to liquid acid, we recommend you to use a permanent sealer to avoid problems.
HONED FINISH:
« Silk lamination » of natural stones. Matte nature. The process consists in sanding and grinding the surface until achieving a smooth but less shiny look. This finish has the advantage to require only minimal maintenance. It is particularly useful for marble flooring and especially for surfaces that are in contact with water as it allows for a much better grip than a polished finish.
LEATHERED FINISH:
Creates texture, a rough appearance, a soft gloss. This is one of the newest stone finish. This kind of finish hides fingerprints, water spots, and smudges well. It gives the stone a textured presence. It is best used for darker granites, countertops, vanities and outdoor applications.
FLAMED FINISH:
An intense flame is fired at the stone, causing the surface to burst and become rough. It is best used for exteriors when the goal is to get an anti-slip finish, great for swimming pools for example. This finish is typically applied on granites and hard limestone.
